Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 7, 2026
WebitPartner Portal is published by Tachyon Business & Computer Solutions (“Tachyon,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), based in Vernon, British Columbia. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, store, and eventually dispose of personal information collected through portal-webitpartner.ca, in accordance with British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
We collect, use and disclose your personal information only with your consent and for the purposes described in this policy. Where a form has a consent checkbox, ticking it is your express consent. Where you give us information for an obvious purpose (for example, your email address so we can reply to you), your consent is implied. You can withdraw your consent at any time, as described in section 5.
1. What Personal Information We Collect
- Account information (for client members): name and email address, set up manually by us β there is no public self-registration on this portal.
- Form submissions: name, email address, phone number and text-message preference (if provided), business details you choose to share (such as business name, mailing address, and website information), and the content of your question or message, including questions sent through Ask Tachyon.
- Technical information: standard log data such as IP address and browser type, collected automatically for security and performance.
- Client digest subscription (once available): name and email, collected only with express opt-in consent.
We do not knowingly collect financial information, government identification numbers, or other sensitive personal information through this portal.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your client member account and provide access to member-only content
- To respond to inquiries, quote requests, and Insight Report orders
- To deliver the monthly client digest, once you have opted in
- To maintain website security and diagnose technical issues
- To answer your questions, including through Ask Tachyon. If an answer would help other members, we may share it on the portal without your name or any details that could identify you
- To contact you by text message about your inquiry, only if you have told us a text message is OK
- To comply with legal obligations
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties, and do not use it for advertising beyond the client digest you’ve explicitly opted into.
3. How We Store and Protect Your Information
Personal information is stored on our hosting infrastructure and processed through the software systems operating this site. We apply reasonable safeguards, including SSL/TLS encryption in transit, regular software updates, a web application firewall, and scheduled backups.
No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure. If a data breach creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we will notify you without unreasonable delay, and we will also notify the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for BC.
4. How Long We Keep Your Information
We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected, or as required by law. Client account information is retained for the duration of the business relationship and securely deleted within a reasonable period afterward, unless you request earlier deletion.
5. Your Rights
Under PIPA, you have the right to:
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
- Withdraw consent for us to use your information (subject to legal or contractual restrictions)
- Make a complaint about how we’ve handled your personal information
We respond to access, correction, or complaint requests within 30 days (the time limit set by PIPA; in limited circumstances PIPA allows it to be extended, and if that happens we will tell you why). To make a request, contact us at privacy@portal-webitpartner.ca. If unsatisfied with our response, you may also contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
6. Client Digest Consent
Our monthly client digest is educational content for existing clients only β practical tech tips and the occasional fun fact. It is not promotional or sales material, and it is not sent to the public. If you opt in, we collect your name and email based on express, opt-in consent β an actively selected checkbox, never pre-checked. Every digest clearly identifies Tachyon Business & Computer Solutions as sender and includes a working one-click unsubscribe link honoured within 10 business days.
Existing clients may also receive occasional service-related communications (such as appointment reminders or account notices) separate from the opt-in digest.
7. Cookies
This site may use essential cookies required for basic functionality (such as keeping you logged in to the member area) and, if analytics tools are enabled, aggregate usage cookies. We do not use cookies for third-party advertising.
8. Third-Party Services
This portal relies on third-party plugins and services that may process personal information on our behalf, including web hosting, form-handling, email delivery, security tools, and (once selected) client digest delivery providers. The portal also loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser’s IP address is sent to Google when a page loads. We select vendors offering reasonable security safeguards and share only whatβs necessary for them to provide their service.
9. Children’s Privacy
This portal is intended for business owners and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 13.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. The “Last updated” date above reflects the most recent revision. If a change significantly affects how we use your personal information, we will let members know by email or on the portal.
11. Privacy Officer & Contact
Tachyon Business & Computer Solutions is accountable for compliance with this policy. Questions and requests are handled by our Privacy Officer. For any privacy-related question, access request, correction request, or complaint, contact us at privacy@portal-webitpartner.ca.
